In continuation of our "Alumni Quotes Series by PIMA-UAE", we would like to introduce a leading lady in our alumni, our very own Vice President Mrs Sudarshi Mendis. She is the Managing Director of Lux & Veritas International Middle East Operation and manage Lux & Veritas International Holding Ltd -UK. She is a passionate and self-motivated business partner with many years of experience working in business consultancy, financial and marketing management in several industries such as marine, shipping, investment, trading, consultancy and manufacturing. She has a wider array of experience in managing diverse business models in different industries with the aspiration to stimulate connections through business partnerships development and expansion. She is also currently acting as the financial controller of BAFCO Group, UAE. She is a member of MBA (PIM-UAE) and is the very first female Vice President of PIMA-UAE. In continuation of our "Alumni Quotes Series by PIMA-UAE", we would like to introduce another vibrant Alumnus, Ranil De Silva our Secretary of PIMA UAE. Ranil is a Finance Professional with over 24 years of experience in structuring financing and corporate relationships with banks and other financial institutions and is currently employed as the Group Manager – Corporate Finance & Planning at Metito Group. He is also the proud Executive Chairman/MD of Solomons De Silva & Moorthy (Kandy) – Chartered Accountants and Tax/Management consultants, Sri Lanka. An MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Colombo with a Distinction, he is also a public speaker, a social entrepreneur (served in many social organizations and boards leading them successfully), an entertainer, and a very keen sportsperson.
Ranil was recently appointed as the Treasurer in the Executive Board (representing PIMA-UAE) of the Sri Lankan Professionals Association (SLPA) in the UAE, Trustee of Lanka Lions Sports Club UAE, member of the Local Advisory Board of Gems Wellington International School and previously was the Board Secretary of the Sri Lanka Business Council - UAE. We are proud to have you in our alumni.

In continuation of our "Alumni Quotes Series by PIMA-UAE", we would like to introduce another leading Alumnus, Mr Damith Fonseka, our current President (2021-2022). Damith is a Professional Banker with over 25 years of experience including 15 years of corporate banking experience in both Sri Lanka and UAE. He is currently attached to a leading bank in the UAE as a Senior Relationship Manager -Wholesale Banking Group.
He completed his senior secondary education from Wesley College, Colombo and post-senior education from D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo. He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management- Sri Lanka and also an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
Damith is an Executive Board Member (the Lead Member representing PIMA-UAE) of the Sri Lankan Professionals Association in the UAE, and involved in various Social & Welfare activities in the UAE. He has been an active member of PIMA-UAE during the last 5-6 years holding numerous positions such as Executive Member, Assistant Secretary and Vice President before pursuing his current role as the President. We are proud to have him as an Alumnus.

Mr Deepal Rajaguru, an Incorporated Engineer, a Member of Sri Lanka’s Institution of Incorporated Engineers Sri Lanka (IIESL) and was the Vice-Chairman of its UAE branch until recently. He is a registered Incorporated Engineer with Engineering Council, Sri Lanka (ECSL). He had obtained his Engineering graduateship from City & Guilds of London, UK, and also holds the Associate Membership of the Royal Aeronautical Society (UK). He is an experienced Aviation Maintenance Support Engineer with many decades of experience in the industry attached to well-known Air Lines in UAE, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

He is a past pupil of Kingswood College, Kandy; and Royal College, Colombo and holds his MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, Sri Lanka

Deepal has been a founding member of various professional organizations which were established in the UAE, such as, Institution of Incorporated Engineers Sri Lanka-UAE branch (IIESL-UAE), Post Graduate Institute of Management Alumni –UAE (PIMA-UAE), Sri Lankans Professional Association (SLPA-UAE) and other social associations where he took leading roles.

He was the Past President (2015-2018) of PIMA-UAE and was conferred with the "PIMA Personality of the year award" in 2019. We are so proud to have him as an alumnus.

In continuation of our "Alumni Quotes Series by PIMA-UAE", we would like to introduce a leading Alumnus, Mr Kusal Nanayakkara, MBA, AIQSSL, MAIQS, FCMI. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who holds corporate memberships from professional Quantity Surveying Institutions of Sri Lanka, Australia and the UK, and a fellow membership from the Chartered Management Institute in the UK. Kusal has over three decades of professional experience in Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration in Sri Lanka and the UAE, and presently performs as the Commercial and Contracts Manager at JC Maclean International FZCo in Dubai. He is a past pupil of Ananda College, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Kusal is an Executive Board Member (the Editor) of the Sri Lankan Professionals Association in the UAE, and was a Board Member (2006-2008) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) - UAE. He is the Immediate Past President (2018-2020) of the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni - UAE (PIMA-UAE), and has immensely contributed to the elevation of the Alumni to its current state. As part of our "Alumni Quotes Series by PIMA-UAE", we would like to introduce another eminent member Dr. M.J.Mohamed Sharaaz (DBA) He is an accomplished Business leader in business technology domain with over 30 years of experience in Sri Lanka, UAE and Qatar. He had studied at Trinity College Kandy, Sri Lanka and conferred a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Walden University-USA. His study was on the Dubai market, focused on how businesses managed to stay profitable in a hyper-inflated economic environment. He holds his MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management- Sri Lanka and has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business from Emeritus in collaboration with Colombia Business School and MIT-USA, to understand the technology and its disruption, opportunities and strategic directions of future organizations and leadership. He was the President of Trinity College OBA, UAE Branch and a member of the Sri Lanka Business Council in UAE. We are proud to have you as PIMA-UAE alumni.
